Charles Magrath, President

Charles Magrath has over 25 years of experience in transit signal system operation, maintenance, design and construction. Much of Charles’ experience was gained while working for New York City Transit where he held various positions, culminating his career at the MTA as the head of the operating signal engineering group. Prior to the formation of TC Electric, Charles held a position with Parsons Transportation Group as a Senior Design Engineer, in this position he managed the design and construction efforts on a multitude of signal system projects. Charles co-founded TC Electric in November 2005, and quickly grew the company into one of the premier electrical contractors working for the MTA. Charles is a registered Professional Engineer and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New York Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Robert Herschenfeld, Senior Vice President

Robert Herschenfeld brings over 25 years of experience as a senior operations and finance manager in the electrical industry, including two decades of client work for New York City Transit.

Prior to TC, Robert played an integral role in managing L. K. Comstock & Company, RailWorks Corporation’s largest operating subsidiary, since 1989. He served in numerous management positions, including Operations Controller, Vice President of Finance and Sr. Vice President - Operations. Robert was an integral member of the executive management team overseeing all metro New York construction projects.

James Petry, Superintendent

James Petry brings over 30 years of experience to TC Electric, including 18 years working on New York City Transit projects.

Prior to TC, Jim worked as a Project Manager for F&V Electric, L.K. Comstock RailWorks, and Safetran Systems Corporation on some of New York’s highest profile projects, i.e. World Trade Center 1 & 9 Line, Grand Central Terminal, Canal Street, and Automatic Fare Collection upgrades. Jim’s prior work experience includes electrical and signal work in sub-stations, fan-plants, pump rooms, station rehabilitations, relay rooms, and communication rooms.
