Culver Line Viaduct

In March 2009 New York City Transit issued the notice of award to Judlau Contracting for the Rehabilitation of the Culver Line Viaduct. This $178.8 million project is located in Brooklyn and will include rehabilitation of the concrete viaduct deck including waterproofing; removal of existing track, signal work and cables within the viaduct limit to permit repair and rehab of the existing concrete deck; installation of new water proofing, protection concrete, and new track drainage system, 16,000 feet of new LVT Track, and a new signal system.

Four Judlau Companies, including TC Electric, came together, offering the owner an integrated full-service approach. TC Electric is performing the electrical work on this project, including replacing the existing signal system. The electrical portion of the Culver Line Viaduct consists of Low Voltage Electrical, Signal Work, Traction Power Work and Communication Work. TC is wiring two new buildings and 1.5 miles of track. The tracks are over ground at an elevation of 100 ft, the highest point in the New York City Transit System.
