Design-Build Services for Accessibility Upgrades – Package 2

ADA Upgrades

CONTRACT VALUE: $242 Million

The project involved a comprehensive upgrade to eight subway stations, focusing on improving accessibility and infrastructure. It included the design, furnishing, and installation of 11 new elevators at Westchester Square Station (6 Train), Eighth Avenue Station (N Train), 181st Street Station (A Train), Woodhaven Boulevard Station (J/Z Trains), Court Square Station (G Train), and Queensboro Plaza Station (N/W/7 Trains). Each station featured 1 to 3 new elevators, along with upgrades to electrical power and station communication systems, relocation of public and transit utilities, addition and relocation of staircases connecting streets, mezzanines, and platforms, reconstruction of platform edges, and redesign of ADA-compliant boarding areas. The project also involved replacing five existing elevators at Marcy Avenue Station (J/M/Z Trains) and Flushing Avenue Station (J/M/Z Trains). Additionally, state-of-good-repair work was conducted at Woodhaven Boulevard Station and Westchester Square Station to enhance infrastructure reliability and safety.
